summer storm

Follow my blog with Bloglovin

What I wore one rainy weekday out. Had I known it was going to start pouring rain I probably would've picked my outfit differently, but that's the beauty of a summer rain catching you by surprise. This day was spent running around the city doing errands, followed by spicy thai tacos and watching Trainwreck at the matinee, a pretty ideal day to me. I've been thinking it's time to change things up, maybe color my hair? In between seasons I always get the urge to change things up. We will see...

jumpsuit love

I decided to step out of my comfort zone a little with this jumpsuit. It's a definite statement piece with some 70's style flair. I think it's good to step out and try something new every now and then. Not worrying about whether or not something is "your style" or question if you can pull off a particular look - just going with your gut. I've been making an effort to go with my gut instinct more often, not only in fashion but in day to day decision-making. It's too easy to get into the habit of labeling your style or being picky about what goes into your wardrobe. Fashion shouldn't be difficult and you should never feel limited.

it's electric

I recently shot some product photos with Erica for her vintage store and website Electric Revival Vintage.  This was my third time shooting with her and I have to say each shoot gets more fun! This time around I worked with the beautiful Lani and let me say this girl is a true sport! She had about twelve outfit changes all outside on a very hot and humid Georgia day. It's always so motivating to work with such an amazing and dedicated group of girls.

beginnings of summer

Here's a outfit I wore sometime the beginning of the summer and never seemed to get around to posting. I only got to wear these overalls maybe two times before it became too unbearably hot to wear any kind of pant. The intensity of summertime in the south truly has to be experienced first-hand to understand. We are now in mid-July, which is crazy to me. I'm not ready for summer to end and I'm going to try and fit as many hikes, poolside reading and sunbathing into my days off as I possibly can.

scenes from NYC

New York City. This was my second time visiting New York. I had done a lot of growing up since my first time visiting the city, so I was ready to take on the Subway system and explore new areas of the bustling streets. This time we checked out Brooklyn, where we ate some delicious vegan donuts and did a ton of walking through Greenwood Cemetery. Most of our time here we took a train up and down Manhattan, shopping in Soho and grabbing churros on the Upper West Side after a long afternoon of pacing through the Metropolitan Museum. New York has so much to offer that it seems overwhelming at times. I feel like with each visit it feels like a new place, always changing and redefining itself. I hope to come back again someday and have another brand new take on the city.

electric revival vintage

A few days ago I shot photos for Electric Revival Vintage's new website at the new Kiwi Vintage Market in Atlanta. Erica, the owner of Electric Revival, is one stylish, badass woman. Her collection of vintage is a great mix of western, bohemian and rocker. I had a hard time not leaving with one of her southwestern wool jackets - so cute! I had so much fun on this shoot and everyone made me feel super welcomed and at ease. It was nice to work with an all-female team and do what we all love!

kiwi vintage market

Yesterday I had the privilege of shooting promo photos for Erica, owner of Electric Revival Vintage at the beautiful space that is Kiwi Vintage Market. The market is brand new to Atlanta, having just opened January 2014. It's a huge space with dedicated areas to tons of different and amazing vintage vendors. I had so much fun walking around the place, taking in all the hidden gems each perfectly placed within the market. I had a hard time not taking a piece home with me to be honest!!
Electric Revival Vintage is hosting a private shopping party with cocktails and music on March 5th, 6-8pm! RSVP on their Facebook or email electricrevivalvintage@gmail.com! It should be a pretty awesome girls night! Also be sure to follow Kiwi Vintage Market to be the first to know about new vintage pieces coming through the store!
