New York City. This was my second time visiting New York. I had done a lot of growing up since my first time visiting the city, so I was ready to take on the Subway system and explore new areas of the bustling streets. This time we checked out Brooklyn, where we ate some delicious vegan donuts and did a ton of walking through Greenwood Cemetery. Most of our time here we took a train up and down Manhattan, shopping in Soho and grabbing churros on the Upper West Side after a long afternoon of pacing through the Metropolitan Museum. New York has so much to offer that it seems overwhelming at times. I feel like with each visit it feels like a new place, always changing and redefining itself. I hope to come back again someday and have another brand new take on the city.

electric revival vintage
A few days ago I shot photos for Electric Revival Vintage's new website at the new Kiwi Vintage Market in Atlanta. Erica, the owner of Electric Revival, is one stylish, badass woman. Her collection of vintage is a great mix of western, bohemian and rocker. I had a hard time not leaving with one of her southwestern wool jackets - so cute! I had so much fun on this shoot and everyone made me feel super welcomed and at ease. It was nice to work with an all-female team and do what we all love!

kiwi vintage market
Yesterday I had the privilege of shooting promo photos for Erica, owner of Electric Revival Vintage at the beautiful space that is Kiwi Vintage Market. The market is brand new to Atlanta, having just opened January 2014. It's a huge space with dedicated areas to tons of different and amazing vintage vendors. I had so much fun walking around the place, taking in all the hidden gems each perfectly placed within the market. I had a hard time not taking a piece home with me to be honest!!

diary of a freezing broke girl
I haven't posted here in a while! I've been really wanting to take ootd pictures with my new camera but it's so cold outside and I'm a wimp! I think the high in Atlanta today is 30 degrees which is CRAZY. I wish it would just snow already 'cause the cold is only acceptable if there's snow to look at :)
Here's some phone pics to kinda document what I've been up to lately...
ICE SKATIN'! Me and my boo went ice skating the other week and it was surprisingly so much fun!! Also a couple beers beforehand helps if you're a little bit scared ;)
Playing dress up at work. I friggin LOVE this Bleeker Bucket Bag by Free People. Amazing quality. Totally my style. IT'S PERFECT. Also getting my picture taken more reminds me to work on my posture..yikes.
Celebrating Friday the 13th with some Satan's Taint at Ormsby's. Not gonna lie this was GROSS. Wouldn't recommend unless you're into drinking vodka with Sriracha.
My bf has been working at a pizza place and bringing me really weird pizza combos. On this one he put a strawberry in the middle for a Valentine's day touch. He's cute.
Drawing pictures of the clothes I can't have. This is totally serious. The coat I'm referring to is this baby...which is now on sale but sold out of my size. Not meant to be I guess!
Oh and eating at Dulce Vegan again. (duh)
In other news I'm going to New York with my mom in a few weeks and I'm totally stoked! I haven't really thought about what I wanna do besides go to some museums and eat food. I definitely plan out going to the Björk exhibit at MOMA. Do you guys have any awesome suggestions? Amazing veggie places to eat? I'm so excited!!

wardrobe inspo
Do you ever look at your checking account and think, "Woah, where did my money go?!". Usually when this happens to me I'll do some investigating and realize that most of it went to smaller purchases that added up quickly: a cup of coffee (ok lots of coffee), groceries, that wine you got with your girlfriend after yoga class ...you get the picture. Recently I've been reevaluating my spending habits and giving myself some monetary boundaries. My biggest rule being: only spend the money you actually have. No credit card purchases for some shoes you can't really afford. My second rule is that I cannot buy clothing unless I need it (i.e: underwear/workout pants) or I know it will become a staple I will wear and keep in my closet for years. I did a complete purge of my closet and I realized I had no attachment to most of my clothes. It was either cheaply made and couldn't hold up through the years, or too trendy and no longer felt like it suited my personality.
I've learned as I'm getting older that the classic pieces I once found boring are called classic for a reason. They are timeless pieces you can mix and match with anything, literally. I've collected some images via Pinterest that have inspired me to dress more streamlined with a little edge.
If you have any tips for budgeting please share!

baby missiles
Vintage Jacket and Dress
Philip Lim for Target Bag
Vegan Dr. Martens
This is the kind of outfit I usually wear when the weather is miserable but I still want to feel somewhat put-together and girly. Atlanta has been in a dreary rain spell for what feels like a week now and I have a love/hate relationship with it. It's harder to motivate myself to go outside but it's also perfect cozy reading weather. Despite the weather this was a pretty awesome day. Jordan and I went to Dulce Vegan and damn I forgot how amazing their food is. I got a TLT (tempeh, lettuce and tomato) and he got the Angela, an everything bagel with vegan cream cheese, kale, cucumbers, tomato and avocado. I would highly recommend it if you're in the Kirkwood neighborhood.

rainy day ootd
Zara top
American Eagle cardigan
One Teaspoon jeans
Target Shoes
Phillip Lim for Target bag
This is a very typical lazy day outfit for me. The weather has began to get colder each day and all I want to do is wear grays and blacks. My neighbor recently gifted this cardigan to me because it didn't fit her quite right and I've been wearing it to death. It's the perfect slouchy grandpa cardigan that you can throw over anything!
